How we make our reports
Plain answers, so you can decide how much to trust us.
Every fault shows its source
Each known fault in a report links to the page we found it on: owner forums, recall and service notices, safety test results and workshop guides. Across the 12 full reports that are ready today, that is 135 faults and 85 different sources. You can click through and check any of them yourself.
How a report is written
- We start from official registration data, so the list of 439 car models, years and engines matches what is actually sold in Ireland.
- We use AI to read published sources and draft the report in plain English.
- A fault only goes in if the draft can point to a source page it actually opened. If we cannot support a claim, it stays out.
- Every report shows the date it was last updated.
What to keep in mind
- Repair costs are estimates for an independent garage in Ireland. Your quote will differ.
- A report is about the model, not the history of one particular car. It does not replace a viewing, a test drive or an independent inspection.
- We do not take money from car makers or dealers, and we do not sell your details.
If we get something wrong
Tell us. We fix the report, and if it cost you something because of our mistake, see our refund policy.
